Addictions and Attachment

Addictions are being recognized by some in the mental health field as a form of an attachment disorder.  Craig Nakken in his book, The Addictive Personality, recognizes in his definition of an addiction that it has to do with being a pathological relationship with an object or event.  Recovery from any addiction is not only sobriety but healthy connected relationships.  Dr. Rick explores the connection between loneliness and addiction and how this impacts an individual as well as society.
